Cadence's Bridals

I've known Cadence since 5th grade and it was so fun to do this styled shoot! It was great to catch up on all the things that have been going on in our lives. So for this styled shoot, I decided to choose a time that I hate to shoot at. I do not like shooting in direct sunlight and when the lighting is so harsh. For me this is the hardest light to shoot in and I generally like to stay within my comfort "golden hour" lighting. However, I wanted to try challenging myself, because for my goal to be a wedding photographer, there is never going to be perfect lighting when I want. So I needed to learn to shoot in direct sunlight and let me tell you. It was tricky, but SO worth it. With Cadence's dress I really wanted to display the movement in the dress, I also was going for a more editorial look to this shoot; which is a style that I don't normally do. It was so fun playing with shadows and I feel like the pictures turned out well! I can't wait for you to see them! (A little FYI, these photos are hardly retouched at all. The thing I did most to these photos, was sharpen them. YES even the sunset looking photos)

This shot is one of my favorites! I was so unsure how this would turn out. The sun was right behind her and it was BRIGHT. At first I was going for getting the sunbeams in the corner of the frame, but having the sun right behind was magic!

Same with this shot; I was worried it would be too bright and it would make a silhouette, but it did just the opposite. It totally brightened the image.

For these next few images, I really wanted to try creating something different with light and the scenery. I thought the road looked kinda cool in the shots and it's not something you normally see in bridal photos. The lighting with my FAV. I loved how pink the sun made her dress look.
